Site Superintendent-Buckner, KY

Location: Buckner, KY


A Site Superintendent is responsible for leading a team and managing the day-to-day activities in the safest and most efficient method within a customer site to exceed customer expectations. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation and planning of upcoming jobs as well as enforcing any safety processes and procedures that may follow. This position is responsible for leading and developing individuals in efforts to increase skill sets and shift talent throughout the organization.


  •  Responsible for all activities within the specific customer site.
  •  Assists General Manager in planning and coordinating equipment and human capital to meet customer expectations.
  •  Plan for both scheduled and unscheduled jobs through the proper utilization of human capital and equipment.
  •  Ensure that all safety policies, procedures, and programs are followed at all times within the customer site.
  •  Proactively assess selling opportunities by understanding customer process and communicating accordingly.
  •  Ensure all administrative duties are completed properly and on time such as timesheets, JSHAs, etc.
  •  Communicate job scope changes, job details, job costs saving and potential job opportunities with local leadership.
  •  Train and support multiple teams within the area of responsibility.
  •  Attend customer meetings as required to communicate financial status and activities occurring on site
  •  Build relationships with all key customer representatives
  •  Lead, coach, train, and support a group of employees
  •  Identify and develop talent within the site team to move talent through the organization
  •  Enforce and communicate all Thompson and customer safety rules with the team
  •  Ensure all employees are prepared to complete jobs in the safest way possible: PPE, etc.
  •  Report any quality issues to the appropriate leadership
  •  Act in a way that is professional and representative of Thompson Industrial Service, LLC at all times



  •  Tools, equipment, machinery used: Large industrial cleaning equipment and materials, large industrial vehicles, and basic computer systems (Word, Excel, etc).
  •  Working conditions: Normal office environment (on-site and off-site locations), outside work, extreme temperatures, noisy conditions, shift work, flexible schedules, on-call hours, 24/7 availability.
  •  Physical effort required. Some heavy lifting, working with large machinery, confined spaces, and heights.
  •  Some Travel required: Geographical territories can range in size depending on the customer base. Overnight travel will be required for this position.



  •   Bachelorís Degree preferred or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  •   High School Diploma or equivalent required
  •   Excellent communication skills and computer skills (Microsoft office)
  •   3 - 5 years in management preferred
  •   3 - 5 years of experience within the industrial or operations field
  •   Must possess good administrative, public relations, and technical skills necessary to enhance overall operations
  •   Must have valid driverís license and good driving record
